Memo to my bank
Dear Sirs,
In view of what seems to be happening internationally with banks at the moment, I was wondering if you could advise me correctly:
If one of my checks is returned marked 'insufficient funds,'how do I know whether that refers to me, or to you?
Sincerely,
A worried customer

We will have to think about this one won't we?
Very nice! :D
Fractional Reserve Banking = Stupid.
Frankly, I think it safest right now to buy your own heavy duty safe and withdraw all savings from the bank. If possible, liquidate any investments for the time being as well.
Keep it in the mattress.
What I hate about the insufficient funds notice is the $35.00 charge. I had that happen about 5 months ago and I called up and complained. I had enough in savings to cover it and they were supposed to do that automatically. They apologized and gave me the refund. About once every 2 years we forget to enter a check or withdrawal.
lol I know what you mean. Just wait until the nationalize some banks this year. Many banks are setting our toxic 'assets' that are worth a whole lot less than what the Balance sheet shows. It is going to get ugly, but the furor over nationalization will be unwarranted. It just makes good news copy.
Have a very nice weekend

@SwearNoAllegiance - DUDE!! I was just thinking the same thing this morning after hearing about Citibank.
@NVRSAD_DAY - I'm going to trust you that you are right about it just being good copy. The first steps to socialism and communism are 1) Take over the government 2) Take over the healthcare system 3) Take over the banking industry. Looks like we are well on our way.....
SURF ON, SURF ON! Very Nice!
Gotta ride a poetic wave out into the sea of misery for a while
gotta ride it out and find bliss on shore!
God bless you!
@zeygus - I LIKE IT!!!!! Thanks for the poetic line....and for dropping by.
